The local 'air quality' must be mentioned on sites like this...we have our ups and downs here- and the state of the public schools. 'All Rosey' pictures smack of false advertising. Both of these issues are key to young families who have options on where to locate.

Kudos to Marietta Community Foundation for proposing a “come hither” logo for the water tank– a proactive, creative, inexpensive marketing action. The sign, in effect a new “name” for the tank, will directly invite passers-by to think well of Marietta, learn more, and return. Council should say yes. You’ve heard the phrase, “What’s in a name?” In Marietta this year, the question might better be worded, “What’s not in a name?” Notice that Marietta Community Foundation did not propose that the sign say “Marietta Community Foundation Marietta – Come live the good life -- GoodLife Marietta****“. Yes, MCF did a good thing by looking ahead on behalf of the community. But their MCF name had nothing to do with attracting visitors; so they didn’t try to squeeze MCF into the logo.
Could the theater learn a lesson about attracting future donors and customers?
