So is this how the justice system works now. . .you can do a crime and then pick and choose when you are going to serve your punishment for it?? And to add to it you can choose that time to work around any business that you may have? Whatever happened to consequences for actions??

Tinker, being able to pay their fine and court costs are more of a benefit to us as a whole than the jail time, which also costs us as a whole money. Look at the big picture.

Tinker , Considering that these charges are the result of an illegal search and seizure all of the charges should have been dropped. The real crime here is the fact that the police violated their rights and the court co-conspired in this crime. By not dropping all the charges the court has furthered the belief that the police are always right and can trample the public and the constitution at any time they want.

"Gee your Honor, doing time in jail on those dates will interrupt my life style plans". What is happening to the judicial system, when law breakers can make the calls on jail time?

But then again, this is Washington County so that's the way it has always been.

Minks' jackbooted stormtroopers at it again.

Both defendants ought to be free and what passes for a sheriff's department in Washington County ought to be facing a multimillion dollar lawsuit.

I don't have a dog in this fight so I withhold my opinions. BUT, if the search was illegal, shouldn't all the charges have been dropped? How do you pick and choose what you find with an illegal search? I don't like criminals, too bad for them, but you don't want this type of overreach in your own life, do you?
