$411 and a half a day? And they say that educators make no money. Thats more than $80.00 an hour, if he actually works an 8 hour day. Thats more than the President of my company makes. And he is the President of a multi million dollar company. Its no wonder Warren is having a hard time paying their bills.

Well, this finally clears the air. We will see how this one works out. The Warren BOE will really be under the gun if they're taken to the cleaners this time around. Only time will tell!

Time will tell if the "NO" voters are satisfied. My belief is nothing will satisfy them.

Why did the teachers and the Teachers Association President get to talk to him before he was hired and the community didn't? This is already a one sided relationship. Was the elderly lady on shown WTAP a teacher?

Paying two superintendents at the same time to do a part time job. I think they both need a raise.

Considering the history at Warren and the way he was hired Mr. Newton will certainly have his hands full.

Strange that the BOE has the public interview three candidates, turns them all down, them hires some one that wasn't even on the original list? Sounds like they (the BOE) was just giving lip service to the district residents and were going to do what they wanted to do all along. Seems like Mr. Newton has been an awful lot of places for such a young person....

swilson60, that was just the dog and pony show to make it look good to the public. They was talking to Newton before that even took place. The teachers association had the final say in who was hired. They are the ones that give him the 100 question check before the BOE made could do it.

the action of the boe has given MR NEWTON a bigger hurdle to cross. this boe and gibbs have made 65% of our distrist NO voters. #1 equal education has not been their goal. ex: 6million in the bank and they make it a hardship for students to get to school. we would do newton a favor by giving him a new boe.

Where are you coming up with the 1/2 day? Also if you break this down he's only getting $51.?? per hr. for the next 20 days to work with Gibbs. It's NOT $80.00 per hr.

I know Warren has been given a bad rap over the last several years, but I think its high time to move on here people. LET IT GO. This is our children and grandchildrens future we're talking about. I personally hope Mr.Newton does a fantastic job!

They havn't used the pay to play money yet and now have money for bussing. I hope the new guy gives the pay to play money back to the sprots programs. With all the new found wealth we wont need to renew the up coming emergency levy. Better to keep the money for our familys.

johnson73: From your post, it sounds like maybe you have a limited education yourself. I also believe you are a "NO" voter, and thus, will never be satisfied no matter what. The levy does not stand a chance with your ilk leading the way.

clueless, you need to look at the district as the equivalent of a multi million $$$ company and the superintendent as the CEO. He oversees a multi million $$$ yearly budget, directs the activities of 200 or so employees, is responsible for the safety of about 2600 children, responsible for a fleet of vehicles that happen to transport bored kids. I believe the CEO this BOE just hired also has a Ph.D. meaning he spent 8 yrs in college.
