Each of Washington County’s five villages will have four council seats on the ballot in November, but some don’t have a single prospective candidate yet....

The reason for no candidates is very simple: The "party Bosses" have not been doing their job!! They need to go out and get some people infected (for which there is no cure). I think most people now realize this and are very careful with whom they associate.

Hockeypuck: It's all one big conspiracy against you. The Trilateral Commission and the chairpersons of the Washington County Democratic and Republican parties are all meeting weekly to figure out how to make you miserable.

Few qualified candidates, anywhere, especially in those small villages and townships want to step up and put thenmselves through the wringer, having to withstand the negative comments, the hostile encounters...just look at what happened during all those Warren School District levy campaigns and it won't get any better for some communities, especially those who have to bear the brunt of the impending closure of that Beverly generating plant of A.E.P. The closure of that facility a sad day from the glory days when everyone in the Fort Frye School District (maybe not everyone) couldn't wait to see that new building in Beverly open for school in the Fall of 1957. Worse when all those anticipated jobs from shale gas exploration prove to be few and of limited duration. I follow the Wheeling paper and talk with relatives in Harrison County where that activity is very brisk and all that intfrastructure is being built into place; once the building is completed those jobs end.

No, gonefromMOV, there is no conspiracy. I have the advantage of working in local government for 32 years. You obviously do not. Your comment speaks for itself.
