Not a naysayer by nature but I keep wondering where Mr. Sheng is going to come up with the money for this big free event, let alone his $50,000,000 recreation park. Sorry but this whole thing seems more like a dream than a real plan.

If he jumps from a barge, he's jumping from West Virginia into West Virginia.

To JoeBobAcabra-The money is going to come from what they call investors.Of which Mr Sheng has plenty of them lined up for this business venture.I happen to know him.He is a good man.Do not knock him for actually having what it takes to dream and then turning those dreams into reality.Dreamers and do'ers is something this area is obviously lacking.Stay tuned..there is plenty more to come from this man and his partners.

I guess this is all a great adventure unless it is in your back yard and you have to live with it every day. This is a very frustrating thing.

I hope this happens, but c'mon, this market isn't big enough to keep a 500 bed hotel full 12 months a year, or fill a 10,000 seat amphitheater very often. The outdoor stuff would be a benefit to the area though.

Here's what I can't figure out....bringing the jump and the walk to town will cost a lot in terms of performers pay, logistics, etc. How does the developer make any money, or at least recoup his expenditures if it is a free event?

Forgot who the developer is. Go to the Marietta Court site and look him up. Times should have as well before pushing this story.

I would like to add for those who are concerned about where the money is coming from-I am not at liberty to say or give names but I am aware of at least two people who are behind this venture who probably make $50 million each day BEFORE they even get out of bed.You know them too if you watch tv or go to the movies. Also,I am sure there will be a "buffer zone" included in the development plans to ensure the privacy of those living close by.One thing I can say is folks around here are obviously not too good at accepting change or adapting to something which just may turn out to be a very good thing for this area.

If you don't like living close to the river events, move somewhere else. Although I won't be going to this, I hope all goes well for the performers.

Any investment in the area is a good thing and I hope it's done in a manner that everyone is happy with it. I'm kind of skeptical about any kind of park type place being open.Due to the fact that a lot of parks in Ohio are not doing well and some have even closed their doors.I think if they were smart about the whole thing they would set up a yearly event with the hotel/motels that we have and if we need more build more after that.

fanoftigers, Sounds like your another one of those Crap bowl mixers. You should probably do a little more homework before shooting the diarrhea from your fingers. If you know how to read you would find out over 50 % he is a plaintiff in most cases. And nothing he done was criminal. In other cases. So before you try to basically turn somebodies name into Mud. You should probably do your homework a little better. Its a good way to have a defamation suit on your rear end really fast.

Big D, if you go to the public records section of Marietta Municipal Court you'll see there are six cases involving him and in five he is the defendent. All involve debt. Doesn't mean he's guilty, but it's not the thing you see in folks promoting a $500 million investment. A little google shows that a few years back he was promoting the land as a Frank Lloyd Wright inspired housing development that was going to start in two months. After that he was going to put broadband towers all over Marietta.

I would love to see this work. I don't want to see us get our hopes up for a project that might be a well intentioned dream but has no basis in reality.

A person earns their reputation through their own actions and behaviors. Unfortunately Big D, Mr. Sheng does not possess a stellar reputation from prior business and personal endeavors. I hope that he does make all of his current endeavors a major success. One way to complete this would be to follow through with all of his commitments and meet all of his financial obligations with these projects. I wish him the best.

For fanoftigers...it is easy to point fingers but it ain't easy for you to get your facts straight. You would fail as a judge. Yeah, an eviction which local people took advantage of Mr. Sheng, and a property damage, where Mr. Sheng was compensated. Also, two little disputes over management fees..so what do these have to do with the $50 million and not $500 million project?

I am sure if you tell us your real name, then we can also see if you have a stellar reputation as well in your activities. LOL
