I don't believe that the interior of the house contains much of the historic details from the days when it was a private home. If my memory is correct, I believe that for many years the structure was maintained but not used for anything, not a clubhouse more likely the ground floor was used for storage. Too bad that across the river an historic house once stood with a tree lined lane heading to what might have been a riverboat landing. That farm has been consumed for sand and gravel and the house possibly as historic as this Dana property? That was a loss for the community.

I'm surprised that this property hasn't made it to the list of protected National Historic Lists? But then, it takes someone in the local community to start the initiative--like perhaps any of the active, local members of that historical society. The late Lennie Hulbert, who lived next to the Rhorer farm, once told me that as young woman she would drive a horse and buggy to visit the lady who lived in the house, before the big flood of 1913 which carried away many of the buildings near the residence.
