Qdoba is Just horrible. I was at the Marietta Ohio location on 12-31-2013 near 6pm. The food was not of good quality and even though we were sold drinks with refills the Drink dispenser was turned off. I later heard one of the employees say she had turned it off because they were closing. There were other customers in the dining room attempting to get refills. There was no hot water in the women's rest room, nor paper towels. The trash cans in the dining area were overflowing. I felt cheated and I wish I ad gone somewhere else.

Glad to finally get some more and slightly different eating establishments around here. So tired of wondering OK...we can go out tonight. Let's see...what do we have to chose from...hmmm (not much) LOL

Will the city require more parking space for the Blacksmith moving in with the place that calls itself a pizza house? Blacksmith couldn't make a profit at the other places he has had a restaurant and the pizza store of Moon's never has more than 2 to 4 people in the place when you look in the door.

BWC511, nothing more American than advocating a tax on something because YOU don't approve.

Don't tax you.

Don't tax me.

Tax that guy behind the tree.

@bwc The patrons of the Gunroom should be forced the same taxes. I shouldn't be taxed because I eat the food that I can afford while the well off eat the food that they can afford without paying the same taxes.

I miss College Burrito and Qdoba offers a make your own menu, with many, if not more selections that CB had. I can't wait for my cilantro lime rice, black bean, corn salsa and guacamole burrito. They also have customized nutritional info on their website.

Try to support local businesses first! The fast food garbage the chains serve has quite simply gotten out of control, and it should be taxed the same as cigarettes and alcohol for teh very same reasons.

I'm not fond of chain restaurants. I am fond of good service and that's something that seems to be lacking. I don't want the server to join my dining party, I don't care about their personal life, I don't want my salad or soup at the same time as another course. I don't want interruptions in my conversation with others at my table unless it's urgent, eg, "Hey your hair is on fire!" I don't want the server reaching across me and my plate to serve someone on the other side to serve a meal or remove a plate. What I'm trying to say is that with chains, you will get that chain's version of service. With a higher class restaurant, one expects to get higher class service, but sadly, this doesn't seem to be the case in this area. The only place I've received expert service has been the Buckley House Restaurant. Back when I had money to spend. :(

There are many, many Mexican restaurants with the name Tampico all over the US and Mexico. It's not necessarily a chain though. Tampico is a port, a city, and resort in E. Mexico, in Tamaulipas on the Pánuco River. Pop: 702,000 (2005 est) I think the gentleman who owns the Tampico Restaurant in Marietta also owns the one in Vienna. He might have another somewhere else in WV. Nice man and his staff is always courteous and efficient.

I have always liked Blacksmith BBQ and ate there when it was on 7th Street and in the Comfort Inn.

I will however NEVER eat at it again because it has partnered with a pizza place I will never eat at.

Sorry, but I don't eat with snakes.

I guess there is room for only one original pizza place in this town, & it isn't OTMP&P. Hope Kevin had you know who open his books... He is made of Teflon, nothing ever sticks.

@ask not: If you travel through WV, you will notice that Tampicos is a chain. The guy owns a handful of them. Granted, he may not be a national chain, but a chain non the less.

Glad to hear that Blacksmith is heading back for the downtown, and I think Kevin and Mike will probably compliment each other rather well. Good luck to them!

and proceeded toward his grandfather's house. Within a moment, he felt a sharp pain in his side. The snake had bitten him.

"How could you do this to me?" He cried. "You promised that you would not bite me if I would protect you from the bitter cold."

The snake hissed, "You knew what I was when you picked me up," and slithered away.

Suddenly, he said, "I believe you. I will save you. All living things deserve to be treated with kindness."

The boy reached over, put the snake gently under his coat

Wish Blacksmith well, but ..... reminds me of an old folklore - "A young boy was walking along a wooded mountain path to his grandfathers house. It was bitter cold, and wind cut like a knife. When he was within sight of his destination, he looked down and saw a snake. Before he could move, the snake spoke to him. He said, "I am about to die. It is too cold for me up here, and I am freezing. There is no food in these mountains, and I am starving. Please put me under your coat and take me with you."

"No," replied the boy. If I pick you up, you will bite me, and your bite is poisonous."

"No, no." said the snake. "If you help me, you will be my best friend, I will treat you differently."

The boy sat down on a rock for a moment to rest and think things over. He looked at the beautiful markings on the snake and had to admit that it was the most beautiful snake he had ever seen.

Whether we care for the restaraunts or not, we should all be thankful something is opening and not closing or being tore down! Would love to see a golden coral type restaraunt sometime though...

For those who haven't tried it, Qdoba is very close to Chipotle but with more options. It's not going to take the place of a regular sit down Mexican restaurant, but it will offer a nice change to the area.

Glad to see Kevin get out of the Comfort Inn as well.. moving BlackSmith downtown is a great move. Looking forward to that as well.

Would love to see us get an O'Charlies or a Grinders. Would also like to see Steak and Shake in the area, closer than Vienna.

I know Matt, he is a great guy and a great family. This is new for him, best of luck Matt!

For about the same price as Qdoba, you can eat at Las Trancas...where the food is exceptional, and the service is just as speedy as most "fast" food joints. No thanks, Q, I'll stick with LT.

Looks like Moon found what beer in itself couldn't do for him...bring in customers. I'm thrilled Blacksmith is getting back to basics and coming downtown!

Steak and sea food is good but Chinese and Mex they are getting to be like all the used car lots in town so many of them would like something more unique to the hole area Parkersburg , Belpre , Veinna etc. I do wish them both well !

I was hoping for a Chipotle or Moes but Qdoba will do.

Getting the quality back up for Blacksmith will be great. When they first started at the hotel it was great and then it fell off a cliff. Everytime I went there they were out of this or out of that and some of the meat seemed like it was re-heated. Where they hired their servers is another great question. Awful awful service.
