I have to agree to a certain degree with those that think the date/tragedy is overplayed every yea. We remember without all the graphic details over and over. We can be patriots without viewing this. What was really disturbing yesterday was the posting over and over on Facebook of images of 9/11 with messages that attacked our President. C'mon people...that's not patriotism! You should be able to let your vitriol rest for ONE day a year!

Next thing you know Hallmark will be printing cards telling us to have a Happy Twin Towers Day, just like Happy Fourth of July.

I know the symbolic meaning 9/11/01 has to each person is different. But I hate that it's being played up so much. It was a horrible assault on our country, but do we publicly acknowledge the horrible aftermath heaped upon the innocents who died in Iraq and Afghanistan? Do we acknowledge the loss of life of US soldiers and the soldiers of our allies? No we don't because for some reason it's not dramatic enough.

These events seem to me to be dramatized "OMG look what happened to us" and completely ignores the greater tragedy, "OMG look what we have done in retaliation". And yes, I do support people in the military, but I don't support the military action taken in the middle east.

I'll catch flack for this but that's alright...it's one thing to have ceremonies and vigils every year but do we need several channels showing the videos of the attack over and over??...it's like letting the terrorists win...
