Both parties infect their followers. The ones who really run things are the "party bosses". The elected sheep just do as they are told.

Oh, goody-goody. I can only imagine the glee that the "party bosses" had when a new ripe generation of potential politicians are present to be infected. I hope some escaped, but if there were some that were infected, it is for life. There is no cure.

Republicans revere and celebrate Ronald Reagan and Abraham Lincoln. The Dems revere and celebrate J.F. Kennedy and Bill Clinton, and probably one day, Barry O. Pretty much says it all.

Hey, Townie, why don't you educate us poor, uninformed righties on Iran Contra or the October Surprise? Tell us what they really were and what, if any, harm they inflicted on our country, your own words and analysis if you please.

Rather than end the Cold War, Reagen spent more to try to keep up with the Soviets. They out spent us and collapsed first. It was called Star Wars, and is probably why we no longer invest in space exploration.

Ronnie provided Iran with weapons for a publicity stunt. Canada stuck its neck out more for Americans than America did in that ordeal.

Reagan on Obama: Government's first duty is to protect the people, not run their lives. Or how about this one: Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it. Or this one: The problem is not that people are taxed too little, the problem is that government spends too much. Or this one: No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we'll ever see on this earth!

The Social Security Amendments of 1983 laid the foundation for 30-years of federal embezzlement of Social Security money in order to use the money to pay for wars, tax cuts and other government programs. The payroll tax hike of 1983 generated a total of $2.7 trillion in surplus Social Security revenue. This surplus revenue was supposed to be saved and invested in marketable U.S. Treasury bonds that would be held in the trust fund until the baby boomers began to retire in about 2010. But not one dime of that money went to Social Security.
