Luvsouth, death by train doesn't happen often here that I'm aware guess would be carelessness when it does...trying to beat the train so one doesn't have to, I'll wait ;)

Looks like the short cut around the RR crossing didn't work this time. Seen many of trucks get off RT 7 to use that parking lot to outrun a train.

There was a kid killed by a train a few towns over when I was a kid. Me and my three buddies walked there over night to find the body and be heroes.

NasCarNut, this is one instance where i could not agree more. the outcome of this tpe of meeting is very predictable. i could not think of too many more things to be aware of when operating any type of motor vehicle. it's not like the train is as abig as a house (moving at up to 70 mph or so)! one other thing that amazes me, and i must ask if this happens often in your area, is the number of people that are killed each year by people on the train tracks. would you suppose it is mostly carelessness or suicide by train?
