First, Wow what a treasure! Thank you to Mr. Dean for coming forward with this family treasure.

Next, WTG User for jumping in there to offer some assistance. I hope it leads to this medal finding a family member.

SR: You are absolutely right on some posters.

Lastly: If this medal doesn't find a family member, Will the local PH chapter be willing to accept this treasure? Place it in protected care until Marietta can create its own style of local military museum.

It is so sad that the post below me shows a good person trying to help find the family of this man and 2 people disagree....such a sad state of affairs when the world is so hateful that even a good deed is hated. Thank you User101! When I read the article I was going to see what I could find as well....looks like you've done the work.

In a quick search on ancestry**** I found a picture of Sgt. James T. Suder and of his tombstone. His parents are Charles William Suder, Mary Josephine Schaefer. He is buried in East Lawn Memorial Park. The only living relatives I could find on Ancestry are sister who may still be living but is marked private or the children from the marriage of his brother Charles to Roberta Haney in 1946 that shows 3 private living children and one that passed Steven Philip Suder 1952 – 1975. Charles passed in 1982 21 Sep — Age: 63 Springfield,,Ohio,USA hope this helps, maybe check for some Suders in Springfield Ohio area. It shows Charles having one other son living and two Daughters, Good Luck!
