I was in the education program at Marietta College when Obama got elected. Those professors were deliriously happy, saying how wonderful everything was going to be. I thought, Uh-huh, sure. Bet their outlook has changed a bit now, huh?

The cadillac tax should not be a big surprise to anyone. All you misguided folks who voted for this deceitful fraud obama have been told for years now this would happen. Demand your union bosses pay your cadillac tax.

Just think about what would be happening now if the obama regime had control of both houses. No doubt it would mean the end of America as we know it. The sad thing is he has screwed up the country for years after he leaves office.

Thank the demokrats for obamacare in 2014 elections by voting for their opponent.

The common people have been paying higher premiums for the past couple years. Most peoples just doubled along with the deductible. Time for the ones that think they walk on water to pay up. Oh wait, they went to school for four years and work 8 months a year. How will they ever make it on a $60,000 a year salary plus full benefits? Hope the teachers have to pay the increase out of protect like the rest of us do.

They call this “chickens coming home to roost.

Remember the near-riots that broke out in Wisconsin when Gov. Scott Walker (R.) made modest reforms to state employees’ health benefits? Walker has got nothing on Obamacare. In dollar terms, Obamacare’s Cadillac tax is a far bigger whack to union benefits than anything Walker did.

How much did unions spend to get this guy elected?

No sympathy here.

In order to gain control over the skyrocketing cost of healthcare in this country, the ACA is designed to get folks to take charge of their health by implementing healthy changes into their lifestyle and to not seek medical care for every ache and pain. Let's face it, if you are honest, when you have a "Cadillac" healthcare plan, one that will allow you to see a doctor at any time for any reason and cost YOU little to nothing in a co-pay, it will get abused. The insurance company's hands are far from clean. These rates are outrageous. I could put $27,500 into a healthcare savings account most years and not even come close to spending it for my family's healthcare needs. The savings would not be taxed. The risk you take is needing more than that amount in a given year due to a catastrophic event. Even then, there should be enough residual from prior years to cover this. It is a thought...

The Cadillac Plan is considered a luxury form of healthcare coverage...if these teachers want the best then they should pay the extra it will cost...

Those of you that just want to bash Obama and the Affordble Care Act are missing the bigger picture here. seleah and nascarnut are on the right track..these insurance plans are a real luxury that most of us don't have-the unions need to ease up and allow the districts to shop for and give less costly plans. Also....who noticed the comment by Mark Schwendeman about rising insurance costs? He stated that 10-12 percent increases have been common in recent years. So those of you that are and will blame ObamaCae for insurance rate increases....remember this came from a highly respected and successful insurance agent!

swilson60, get a grip. The ones who are making the most noise about the Cadillac Plans are the unions. And you mentioned the Gov't savings plans. Are the limits being reduced on that also? One of the reasons rates will go up because of Obamacare it that the insurance plans have to cover a number of things for "free", insure those with pre existing conditions (good idea), no life time caps etc etc etc. For insurance companies to survive, the rates have to go up.

This is a scheme to ultimately drive the USA in a single payer system which is the ultimate goal of the Democrats going back to the late Ted Kennedy. It is sad to be living through the dismantling of the great USA.

beight: as I pointed out earlier, as per Mr. Schwendeman, the rates go UP every year anyway. Who did you blame in previous years when the rates went higher?

The ACA was designed to insure the uninsured. 7 Million. So we are disrupting the system for 5% of the population. It would have been easier and less costly just to insure the 7 million.

And rates will not go down because of Obamacare. All figures point otherwise.

Time will tell the tale of weather it is right or a flop asknot. Time will tell as it is now. Can you answer me why such an important bill was NOT put on the ballot and allow the American public to vote on it ??? WHY??? I figger it is because the dems knew it would go DOWN bigtime !!!SO, they rammed it thru on their own and now they can live with the soon to be biggest failure of all..Why didn't they let the medical community put out a proposal???? Because they wanted this for a reason... You know what it is???? I think I do...

I agree with asknot /several years of polls have indicated the majority of Americans wanted universal health insurance. One reason we need it is because many employers dont feel the need to offer benefits with a job.You can say what you want about people wanting free stuff/most affordable healthcare plans are not going to be free. If there is a Cadillac plan for the school, then the union and the school district will have to deal with it. Perhaps they will renegotiate what the school board will put in. If all of you that disagree with asknot think you have such a great system now, well I have news for you , it is not. Hospitals and insurance companies always disagree about what should be covered and what shouldn't/guess what happens when the two of them disagree? Both want to make money, so you the insured get a higher bill. All of us pay for that person who has no insurance and wants the Er for a cold. With the ACA , people have to get insurance , they need to be responsible.
