I continue to be amazed at the drama a little ice and an inch of snow creates in this area. It's winter, people! Learn to drive more carefully, walk in clothing items suited for this kind of weather. There is absolutely NO reason Marietta City schools should have been closed.

This is the truth: I have shoveled my way out of the house with up to five feet of snow on the ground to go to work, to get my children to school, to get groceries, and everyone else in town did the same. I've also dealt with black ice, pogonip, and ice covered streets, roads, and side walks, and everyone else in my city did the same. Were we tougher than Mariettans? Probably not. Were we more adaptable to weather changes? Absolutely! Weather happens. Plan ahead. Dress for it (including warm boots and ice cleats), coats, hats, and gloves. Go to school and your job and quit being such babies about a little ice and snow.
