As promised in his recent State of the Union Address on February 12, 2014, President Obama signed an executive order to increase to $10.10 the hourly minimum wage paid to federal contractors and subcontractors. This means tax payers will now pay more. Contractors will pass the increase on to the Federal Government which is the tax payers. How will that help the defeicit?

Your meddling President using this latest minimum wage scam as a political tool to split America and gain points for his Socialist party Ds and his failed AGENDA is shameful and shameless at the same breath. Central Control is all he is about. You are subjects of a King in his mind, not Citizens of a free representative Republic, with an elected public servant who serves at our discretion. Supporting any one who is on his team, the "Ds", including your local Ds, is like handing your money and safety over to a corrupt Baron or Sheriff of Nottingham. Do not do it in November.

A couple of you on here crying to raise the minimum wage need to wake up!! Every time the minimum wage is raised the cost of everything else is raised. The minimum wage earners are still in the same boat but they drag those who were making slightly more than minimum wage into the same boat they're in because they didn't get a raise, creating more poor people, to*****more taxes out of people making slightly more than the lower middle class, thus creating more people who work hard but get paid less.

Soon the hard workers, who pay the taxes, may get tired of being robbed and choose to join you in the "gutter" to beg someone to give them a "fair shake" but then one day there will be noone left up above to throw you scraps.

BigNapper conservatives want an end of minimum wage so they can pay their workers what they are worth. If that ever passes all workers become worth $3.00/hour, or maybe less, no matter what "current" minimum wage job they work.

The productive taxpaying Citizens of this State and Nation can not continue to shrink in numbers while being subjected to increasing confiscation of honest wages and profits to feed these programs. The message to people needs to change. Young people need to work, at something earning some money, long hours!!! All people need to get smarter and more frugal and save, and be self-sufficient and pay their own rent and bills. And families need to take care of their own. And People who can not afford to support them selves should stop having sex and bringing more needy into America's society. More taxes and "programs" is a losing marxist ideology. A free and prosperous America will get back to truly progressive Capitalist/Entrepreneurial growth and business and jobs creation and improvement. A rising tide lifts all boats.

Most of these people have jobs and still need assistance duh why are they working for so low wages? Positive proof minimum wages must be raised to a much higher level. Maybe a profit cap placed on corps. to stop cost of living raising with wages stop out of control perks and bonuses to ceo's.

Thanks for sharing this important article. Too often people who live in assisted housing are stigmatized. Your article shows them as neighbors...not strangers. Keep up the good work.
