Jessica Grace King and Kyle Wayne McAlarney were united in marriage on May 19, 2007. The wedding was held at Center Free Methodist Church in Sarahsville, Ohio, with pastors Jimmy Rogers, Don Hart and Judy Jones, cousin of the bridegroom, officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Roy and Naomi King of Caldwell. She is the granddaughter of Paul and Rosa King of Caldwell, Chilton and Chris Downey of Shreveport, La., and the late Marylyn Downey. She is the great-granddaughter of Rosa Clark of Caldwell. Honorary grandparents of the bride are Fred and Grace Schneeberger of Caldwell, and the Rev. Jimmy and Peggy Rogers of Byesville, Ohio.

The bridegroom is the son of Wayne and Cheryl McAlarney. He is the grandson of Holly and Ruth Handschumacher and Robert and Mildred McAlarney, all of Whipple. Honorary grandparent of the bridegroom is Jean Oliver of McConnelsville.

The bride wore a gown that featured crystal beading and embroidery on the strapless bodice and a satin chapel length train. Her headpiece was a crystal beading trimmed veil and crystal tiara. The bride carried a bouquet of white and purple lilacs, hydrangea and roses.

Jeanette Henderson served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Kaitlyn McAlarney, sister of the bridegroom; Michelle Dempsey; Rebecca Showalter; and Leah Miser. Junior bridesmaids were Emily and Holly Cooper, cousins of the bride. The bridal attendants wore lilac tea length satin dresses with a star fish pinned at the hip and carried bouquets of white and purple roses and hydrangea.

Flower girl was McKenzie Russell.

Travis Cannon served as best man. Groomsmen were Steven Rech; Jesse Rech; Nathan Russell; and Bradley Cooper, cousin of the bride.

The bride’s brother, Steven King, was recognized in memory as a groomsman by the bridegroom carrying his picture and placing it in line with the groomsmen.

Ringbearer was Rusty Gadd, cousin of the bride.

Candles were lighted in memory of Steven King, brother of the bride; Joseph King, cousin of the bride; Marylyn Downey, grandmother of the bride; and Daryl Handschumacher, uncle of the bridegroom. Bridesmaid Rebecca Showalter walked down the aisle alone in memory of Steven King, the bride’s brother.

The bride is a graduate of Shenandoah High School, Class of 2000, and received her bachelor of arts in early childhood education from Muskingum College in 2004. She is employed at McAlarney Pools, Spas and Billiards Inc. in Marietta and is a volunteer emergency medical technician with the Salem Township Volunteer Fire Department.

The bridegroom is a graduate of Fort Frye High School and the Washington County Career Center, Class of 2001, where he studied electronics. He is employed at McAlarney Pools, Spas and Billiards Inc. in Marietta and is a lieutenant volunteer fireman with the Salem Township Volunteer Fire Department.

After a honeymoon to Wrightsville Beach, N.C., the couple are residing in Whipple.
