Jewels, accessories featured at art event

“Jazzy Jewels and Accessories” is being featured from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Riverside Artists Gallery, 188 Front St., Marietta.

Music will be provided by the Coolville Hot Club, a local jazz band. Handcrafted jewelry, purses, hats, ponchos, scarves and more will be featured. Food and drink will also be available.

Charity auction will benefit Breast Friends

The Locker Room Sports Bar at 217 Greene St., Marietta, is having its second annual Valentine’s Date Charity Auction on Friday.

The event will start at 10 p.m. with a disc jockey. The auction will start around midnight.

This event will auction off select singles to the highest bidder for a date on the town. The money is then collected and all proceeds are donated to Breast Friends. Tickets are free.

Breast Friends was founded in 2000 with the goal of helping patients, friends and family members survive the trauma of breast cancer.

Book sale will be held at Barlow Library

The Friends of the Barlow Library is sponsoring a semi-annual used book sale at the Barlow Branch Library from 9 a.m to 5:30 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Community garden will be topic of survey

Washington County Harvest of Hope is surveying residents of the south side of Marietta to see if they are interested in participating in a community garden. This program will be offered free of charge.

Canvassing will take place until Friday, Feb. 15.

Chocolate event to benefit EVE Inc.

The 19th annual “Chocolate on the Levee” will be held from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, at the Levee House Cafe in Marietta.

The event is a fundraiser for EVE Inc., a shelter and service agency for victims of domestic violence and their children for Washington County. Chocolate items are donated by community members and restaurants in the area.

Tickets are $7.50 for adults, $5 for children under age 12, and $20 for a family of four or more. Tickets are available from any EVE board member and at the Levee House Cafe.
