Four Michigan residents were arrested and authorities confiscated about 10 ounces of cocaine worth $56,000 late Monday evening during an undercover operation near Macksburg.

Washington County Sheriff Larry Mincks reported Wednesday that one woman and three men were arrested by agents of the Parkersburg Violent Crime and Narcotics Task Force and the Washington County Major Crimes Task Force. They are accused of trafficking in cocaine and are believed to be part of an organization from Detroit and Cleveland, working in conjunction with people in the Marietta/Parkersburg area intent on distributing cocaine.

The arrests are considered significant in curtailing the influx of powder cocaine into the Marietta/Parkersburg area, Mincks said. The arrests occurred about 10 p.m. when the suspects met undercover officers in a parking lot off Exit 16 of Interstate 77 in Macksburg.

The four people arrested are: Derill King Jr., 18, of Redford, Mich.; Helena Reid, 26, of Detroit, Mich.; Leonard Collins, 40, of Detroit, Mich.; and Mario Johnson, 28, of Detroit, Mich.

All four suspects remain jailed without bond on felony charges related to complicity and trafficking in cocaine. Officers continue to investigate and additional arrests are possible, Mincks said.

THE WORST THING THE AUTHORITIES COULD DO HERE IS RELEASE ANY OF THESE PEOPLE,EVEN WITH A BOND....THEY' LL TAKE OFF AND 'IF' THEY FIND THEM,GOOD,HOWEVER IT WILL JUST BE MORE MONEY AND WASTED MANPOWER TO FIND THE,THEN THEY ARE FREE TO CONTINUE THEIR DEALINGS.SHERIFF MINKS,JUDGE?, WHOEVER.........PLEASE DO NOT REALEASE DRUG DEALERS FOR THE SAFTEY OF OUR COUNTRY,ESPECIALLY OUR TOWN...........

Great News! Drug use and trafficking are NOT victimless crimes. Profits,in many cases, roll directly up to street gangs. In the case of ******, every dollar an addict spends is money used by the Taliban to shoot at American soldiers in Afghanistan. Great work!

Way to go! I live out of state but I grew up in Marietta. It is hard for me to read about the increased crime/drug rate in my home town. As a Corrections Officer, I plead with ALL the people in Marietta to help authorities clean up the city and county by turning in every drug user and pusher.

Just fantastic!Good to see our authorties doing their jobs and doing it well.Michigan is one of our biggest suppliers..I hope they learn and stay out of our town, along with the rest of the ones from whatever rock they crawled out from under. Our town may just stand a chance of getting cleaned up from what I've seen in the past few weeks......just remember if you know a drug dealer and you don't turn them in,it's on your hands when someone dies from a drug overdose here. You don't even have to give your name when you turn them in,although I'd proudly give mine.I'm sick of the drugs taking over our town, and even more sick of the people we've lost to drugs..be it prison or death.I hear west Virginia is releasing some convicted of crack.I only Pray it's to get them help, not because of overcrowding.Addicts need help...dealers need stopped!!!!!!!!!!! Keep up the good work.......I'm sure some of this is from 'informants'..well good for you too!Keep informing!!!!!!!!!!This just makes my day....
