O’Neill Senior Center schedule

Upcoming events and activities at the O’Neill Senior Center at 333 Fourth St., Marietta, include:

¯ Bowling party — A monthly bowling party is being held the first Monday of each month. Participants are to join fellow seniors at Pastime Lanes. First-time bowlers or seasoned veterans are welcome. The cost of $5 covers two games and shoe rental.

¯ Afternoon tea — A woman’s afternoon high tea will be held at 4 p.m. May 8. Tea sandwiches, desserts and a variety of flavors of tea will be served. There will also be music by the Cello Trillium from Parkersburg, a husband, wife and daughter trio that offers cello and violin chamber music. Cost is $6. Only 60 seats are available.

¯ Shelter in Place — Judy Grize, RSVP coordinator, will present a Citizens Core Shelter in Place program at 1 p.m. Monday, May 12. The shelter-in-place precaution may be ordered whenever there is an emergency situation, such as when hazardous materials have been released into the atmosphere.

¯ Hearing tests — Free hearing testing will be done from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on May 13. Call 373-3914 for an appointment time.

¯ Massage therapy — Beth Zwick, licensed massage therapist, will be at the senior center on May 9 and 23. She will offer 30 minute full body gentle massages. For more information and to schedule an appointment, call the center at 373-3914.

¯ Books and Flowers Tour — A books and flowers tour is being held Wednesday, May 7. The trip includes a motor coach to Columbus, a tour of a miniature exhibit, a kit to make your own book, lunch at Spaghetti Warehouse and admission to the Franklin Conservatory. Cost is $48.
