RENO, Ohio — James Norman Diehl, 78, of Reno, died Friday, May 2, 2008, at Louis A. Johnson VA Hospital at Clarksburg, W.Va.
He was born Aug. 21, 1929, at Macksburg, Ohio, to the late John Richard and Charlotte Irene Dyer Diehl.
He was a member of Garrett Wykoff Lodge 285, F&AM, Lima, Ohio; Scottish Rite Valley of Cambridge; Washington County Scottish Rite Club; American Legion Post 64; and VFW Post 5108. He was a veteran of World War II.
He is survived by one daughter, Kathy Spears, and one granddaughter, Alexia Spear, both of Scottsdale, Ariz. There are also two grandsons; one great-grandson; one brother, Robert Paul Diehl, and his wife of Marysville, Ohio; and special friends, Dale Farnsworth family of Marietta, Ohio.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, John Richard Diehl; and his longtime friend, Hilda Cline.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday (May 10, 2008) at Hadley Funeral Home, Reno Chapel, 1021 Pike St., Marietta, Ohio, with the Rev. Don Archer officiating. Friends may call two hours prior to the services on Saturday. Mr. Diehl was cremated at his request.
