Deputies and bloodhounds are tracking a 19-year-old New Matamoras man accused of stabbing his ex-girlfriend early this morning at her home.

Washington County Sheriff Larry Mincks said Thaddeus J. Salomon stabbed Susan I. Lawson, 23, after he was asked to leave her residence at 51076 State Route 7, New Matamoras.

"He said he wanted one last hug," Mincks said. "When he hugged her he stabbed her in the back, dropped her and left her there."

Mincks said the couple had been staying with Lawson's parents. The woman's mother found her shortly after the 12:30 a.m. incident and called for help.

Lawson was transported to Marietta Memorial Hospital and later taken to Grant Medical Center in Columbus with a punctured lung, Mincks said. Her condition this morning was not immediately available.

Mincks said Salomon will be charged with attempted murder.

No knife has been found and Mincks said Salomon should be considered armed and dangerous.

Salomon has a dark complexion, stands about 5 feet, 7 inches tall, weighs 135 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing dark pants and a striped gray shirt. Anyone with any information of his whereabouts is asked to contact the Washington County Sheriff's Office at 376-7070.

Salomon was last being tracked east of New Matamoras along the Ohio River bank.

As of 7:30 a.m. today he had not been located.

Mincks said strong thunderstorms that rolled through the area around 5 a.m. hampered their search.

I seriously think he needs 15-20.. thats at the least... Nobody should ever stabb, or kill...

He needs to get good time.

People getting busted with Drugs get more time then people who kill, or try to kill.

What a shame. He comes from a very good family.

I also said it does not take much to get you going. As smart as you claim to be, I thought you would see my use of understatement.

Hockeypuck stated; “One should be "slow to anger".. What slow to anger but quick to inflict pain? Hypocritical statements remove any credibility from anything and everything you say.

Keep your words of wisdom (and I use that term in the loosest of ways) to yourself until they actually contain a glimmer of intellectual thought.

Do not try to turn the torture element back towards me hockeypuck. Anyone who reads these boards knows that it is you, and only you, who continually call for the use of these practices and the return of the “London Tower.”

As for my opinion of those I deem below me – I do not deem them below me, although society as a whole deems those kinds of activities as unacceptable and barbaric. That is unless you are a former Governor of Texas or a retired Halliburton CEO.

As I have stated before, if the activities that took place at the “Tower of London” were such a great deterrent to crime as you profess they are, why was it so busy? Why did it not deter people back then? If it had been such a deterrent, the tower would not have become such a notorious place now would it!

Wow, Parrothead. Interesting that you are the one who brought up torture. All your fancy words do is show your opinion of others you deem beneath you.

When he is caught and goes to court, his lawyers will argue that he is a disadvantaged, abused and/or neglected and that society has failed him. The court, of course, will agree. He will likely spend little or no time in jail and will get off with only probation. Wait and see...

One must also wonder what might trigger this same reaction in others that show the same tendencies, but have yet to act on them.

Hockeypuck – I do not want his “wrist slapped”. I agree that making convicts work is something we should be doing. It should also be more than picking up trash. Nothing wrong with that but we have crumbling infrastructure & the maintenance & refurbishment could and should be done with prisoner labor.

Making one “pay for” their crimes & “Torturing” them as you continually spout off about are two different things entirely. Making one work to repay their debt can benefit all of society. Torturing them benefits no one except yourself by satisfying your primitive & psychopathic need to inflict pain on another living creature.

History has proven that the masochistic urges & tendencies like those you exhibit are the same ones found in those that commit crimes. One must wonder what it was that pushed them over the edge & into their anti-social behavior. One must also wonder what might trigger this same reaction in others that show the same tendencies, but have yet t

Hey, Parrothead, tell us which wrist of this butt-wipe you would like slapped. Then, he could come and live in your house. After all, too much pain might hurt him.

Find him, give him a trial by his peers and then hang him. Send a message! This garbage will not be tolerated. Crime of today must be dealt with the most extreme measures. No longer will the vermin be coddled in prison. No longer will judges be able to mandate easy sentences. Their role be that of reading the verdict and slamming the gavel. If the sentence isn't execution, then it is mandatory and hard labor. I'm tired of paying taxes to care for criminals that have a better life in their 8x8.
