Carroll-Wilson

Jamie R. Carroll and Christopher C. Wilson, together with their parents, announce their engagement.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Philip D. Carroll and Marsha L. Carroll of Williamstown. She is the granddaughter of the late Arlie and Dora Tingler and the late Juanita Carroll-Lockhart.

She is a 2005 graduate of Parkersburg High School and attends West Virginia University at Parkersburg, where she is an accounting major. She is employed at Outback Steakhouse in Vienna, W.Va.

The prospective bridegroom is the son of Theodore D. Wilson and Janet M. Wilson of Marietta. He is the grandson of Charles and Lita Wilson of Oberlin, Ohio, and the late Claude and Ruby Pelfrey.

He is a 1996 graduate of Marietta High School. He is employed at United Bank as a trust operation assistant and is a disc jockey for DJ Associates.

The wedding will take place on July 25, 2009, in Marietta.

Coots-Maciag

Zachary Andrew Maciag of Marietta and Amber Renee Coots of Pleasantville, along with their parents, announce their engagement.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Darryl and Joy Coots of Pleasantville. She is the granddaughter of Jim and Shirley Coots of Columbus, and Trudy Phillips and the late John Boham of Washington Court House.

She is a 2006 graduate of Fairfield Union High School in Lancaster and is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Mount Vernon Nazarene University.

The prospective bridegroom is the son of Paul and Lisa Knowles-Maciag of Marietta. He is the grandson of William and Joan Knowles of Marietta, and the late Edmund and Michalina Maciag of Middleburg Heights.

He is a 2005 graduate of Marietta High School and is in the process of obtaining a bachelor's degree in youth ministry.

Wedding plans are incomplete.

Fox-Geary

Kari Dawn Fox and Brandon Alexander Geary, together with their parents, announce their engagement.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Richard and Kristy Fox of Washington, W.Va. She is the granddaughter of David and Jean Grapes, and Charles and Waveline Fox of Parkersburg.

A 2005 graduate of Parkersburg Catholic High School, she will graduate in December from Fairmont State University with a degree in elementary education.

The prospective bridegroom is the son of John and Vicki Geary of Fairmont, W.Va. He is the grandson of Donald and Donna Geary of Follansbee, W.Va., and Dorothy and the late Rossie Wilson of Fairmont, W.Va.

A 2003 graduate of East Fairmont High School, he graduated in May from Fairmont State University with a degree in architecture. He is employed as a project manager for Carr Concrete in Waverly, W.Va.

The wedding is being planned for May 23, 2009, at the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Parkersburg.

Boston-Highman

Marilyn Boston of Wingett Run announces the engagement and upcoming marriage of her daughter, Stephanie Lynn, to Jared Lynn Highman, son of Gregory and Susan Highman of Graysville.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Kathryn Booth and the late Lloyd Booth Sr. of Wingett Run, and the late Kenneth and Larnell Boston of Marietta.

She is a 2005 graduate of Fort Frye High School and is currently a senior at Marietta College, where she is majoring in early childhood education. She is scheduled to graduate in May 2009.

The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Gladys Highman and the late Lawrence Highman of Graysville, and the late Kenneth and Margaret Meyer of Beallsville.

He is a 2002 graduate of Monroe Central High School and received his heavy equipment operator certificate from Hocking College. He is currently employed at the Ohio Department of Transportation in Monroe County.

The private ceremony is being planned for June 20, 2009.

Smith-Pottmeyer

The engagement of Kristin Smith and Alexander Pottmeyer is announced.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Stephen Smith of Vincent and the late Annette Farley of Covington, Va. She is the granddaughter of Paul and Camilla Smith of Beverly, Ron and Sandra Weeter of Cutler, and James Farley and Norma Callahan of Covington, Va.

She is a 2006 graduate of Waterford High School and is attending Franklin University, where she is majoring in accounting.

The prospective bridegroom is the son of Kenneth and Cindy Pottmeyer of Fleming. He is the grandson of Robert and Elizabeth Pottmeyer of Churchtown, and Jean Brown and the late George Brown of Marietta.

He is a 2004 graduate of Waterford High School and a 2008 graduate of Marietta College with a bachelor's degree in petroleum engineering. He is currently employed as a petroleum engineer at Energy Corporation of America in Charleston, W.Va.

The wedding will be held at 3:30 p.m. Aug. 30 at St. John the Baptist Church in Churchtown.
