Wil and Ann Spindler of 117 Jackson St., Marietta, will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary on Sept. 3.
They are the parents of five children: Pat Love of Williamstown; Jim Spindler of Medina, Ohio; Sue Adams of Bradenton, Fla.; Trudy Prouty of Norwich, Ohio; and Bob Spindler of Marietta.
They also have six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Spindler is a decorated World War II veteran. He was a home builder in the Marietta area for many years and later retired from the U.S. Post Office as a letter carrier.
Mrs. Spindler has been a homemaker. She worked for a while at the Williamstown Pottery Factory and also served as a volunteer at The Arbors of Marietta.

CALDWELL - Joe and Martha Parrish of Caldwell celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on Sunday, Aug. 24.
They were married on Aug. 24, 1938, at the First Methodist Church in Columbus, Ohio. Parrish is the son of John B. and Hettie Parrish and Mrs. Parrish is the daughter of Oscar Francis and Nora Florence King.
The couple have four daughters: Sandra (Bill) Eardley of Sugarloaf Key, Fla.; Sally (Tom) Cornett of Cumberland, Ky.; and Jody Parrish-Polen and Kristi (Ron) Close, both of Caldwell.
They also have eight grandchildren: Amy (Jeremy) Wheeler of Hilliard, Ohio; Adam (Tabitha) Schafer of Summerfield; Crystal (Christopher) Alcorn of Georgetown, Ky.; Stephanie (Jason) Reed of Newport; Rhea Polen of Columbus, Ohio; Joseph Cornett of Cumberland, Ky.; Ashley (Aaron) Powers of Beverly; and Sarah Cornett of Cumberland, Ky.
They also have four great-grandsons, Peyton and Riley Wheeler, Will Schafer and Max Reed; and a great-granddaughter, Kailie Jackson.
Parrish began his 37-year teaching career in 1938 at Freeport High School in Freeport, Ohio, as the vocational agriculture teacher. He continued his teaching career at Dexter City, teaching G.I. classes for returning World War II veterans, and then became a teacher at Dexter City High School and finally Caldwell High School. He served as basketball coach, FFA adviser, senior class adviser and National Honor Society adviser, as well as leader of many other student activities. Parrish has served Noble County as county commissioner, member of the board of GMN Tri-County Community Action, and board member and secretary of the Noble County Fair Board, and in various leadership positions at the Caldwell United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Parrish served as an active member of the Caldwell United Methodist Church Women's Society and a 4-H club adviser, as well as many other volunteer positions within Noble County. Her greatest reward has been supporting the career and activities of her husband and their four daughters.
A family celebration was held Aug. 24 at the couple's home in Caldwell.
WATERFORD - Edgar C. and Alma J. McCreery Ginther of Waterford will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Sept. 6.
Mr. and Mrs. Ginther were married on Sept. 6, 1948, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Lowell by the Rev. C.J. Finan. Their attendants were Joanna and Ray Pitt of Lowell, the bride's sister and brother-in-law.
Mrs. Ginther is the daughter of the late John and Lena McCreery of Lowell. Ginther is the son of the late Daniel and Edna Ginther of Waterford.
The couple have nine children: Michael (Debbie) of Carrollton, Ga.; Philip (Sharon) of Galion, Ohio; Ann Conrath (David) of Waterford; Patricia Gast (Patrick), Carol Clark (Larry Border), Dan (Lori), and Martin, all of Beverly; Matthew of Layman; and Tim (deceased), who is survived by his wife, Susan, of Waterford.
They also have 15 grandchildren: Christopher (deceased), Andrew, Benjamin and Theresa Ginther of Carrollton, Ga.; Jonathan Ginther of Athens, Ohio; Natasha Price (Dustin) of Newport; Adam Conrath of Columbus, Ohio; Brian Gast (Christina) of Marietta; Aaron Clark (Jaycee) of Rocksprings, Wyo.; Tony Clark of Waterford; Lexi and Alissa Ginther of Beverly; and Derek, Brent and Mitchell Ginther of Waterford.
They also have two great-grandchildren: Kendrick Brian Gast and Aliyah Rosemary Price.
An open house in the couple's honor will be given by their children from 2 to 4 p.m. Sept. 6 at the Stockport Inn in Stockport, Ohio.

Donald and Betty Waggoner of 110 Alta St., Marietta, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a private dinner and gathering at Fusion Steakhouse in Parkersburg.
They were married Aug. 1, 1958, at First Baptist Church in Marietta with the Rev. Harlan W. Stenger officiating.
Waggoner is retired from the Bricklayers Union. Mrs. Waggoner is retired from RJF International.
The couple's children are Edwin (Ruth) Waggoner of Marietta; Cheryl Montgomery of Lowell; Balinda Harris of Marietta; and Cory Waggoner of Marietta.
Their grandchildren are Trisha (Ray) Moore of Stanleyville; Renee (Todd) Miller of Phoenix, Ariz.; Jason Harris of Marietta; Erin Waggoner of Phoenix, Ariz.; Ashleigh (Jarrod) Schultheisz of Marietta; and Megan Leigh Waggoner (deceased). They also have one stepgrandson, Jon Arthur.
They also have 10 great-grandchildren.
NEWPORT - Ralph and Bessie Heslop of Newport Township will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Sept. 6 with an open house hosted by their children and grandchildren.
The open house will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Evergreen Bible Church Fellowship Hall. Friends and family are welcome.
Mr. and Mrs. Heslop were married on Sept. 7, 1958, at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church by the Rev. James McConnell. Mrs. Heslop is the daughter of the late Benjamin and Mabel Oliver of Lawrence Township, and Heslop is the son of the late Merle and Jessie Heslop of Lawrence Township.
Heslop retired in 1990 from the Washington County Highway Department after 30 years of service. Mrs. Heslop worked for the Washington County Board of Elections. They enjoy volunteering at the Newport Food Pantry and are active members of No. 9 Community Church.
The couple have four children: Perry and his wife, Beth, Beverly and her husband, Ivan Nunn II, Anita and her husband, Dan Turley, and Jill and her husband, Mike Roach, all of Marietta.
They also have 10 grandchildren: Scotty, Jordan and Tucker Heslop, the late Eugene Wright, Briana Nunn and Hans Wright, Heather and Renea Turley, and Ivan III and Andrew Nunn, all of Marietta.
They also have six great-grandchildren: Ivan IV, Alex, Bishop and Isabelle Nunn, and Vincent and Mikah Adams.

Robert C. "Bud" and Dollie Davis will celebrate their 45th wedding anniversary on Sept. 1.
Mr. and Mrs. Davis were married Sept. 1, 1963, at Vincent United Methodist Church in Vincent by the Rev. Russell Harper. Davis is the son of the late Howard and Catherine Davis of Marietta. Mrs. Davis is the daughter of the late H. Waldo and Virginia Way of Vincent.
Davis is retired from E.I. DuPont and the Army-National Guard. Mrs. Davis is retired from Warren Local Schools as a cook.
They are the parents of Teresa (Dave) Ward of Marietta; and Neil (Heather) Davis of Marietta.
They also have three grandchildren: Tyler Ward, and Allison and Levi Davis.
Norman and Dorothy Ullmann Wilkinson of Lynch Church Road, Marietta, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 15.
A dinner in their honor was hosted by their daughters and sons-in-law at Shoney's restaurant in Marietta with family and friends attending.
Mr. and Mrs. Wilkinson were married Aug. 15, 1958, by the late George Koch at the First Christian Church building in Lowell with a small group of friends and relatives attending. Mr. and Mrs. Donald McCain assisted the couple.
Mrs. Wilkinson is the daughter of the late Harry E. and Freda Payne Ullman. She is the granddaughter of the late Daniel L. and Caroline Kehl Ullmann and the late George and Louise Ullmann Payne.
Wilkinson is the son of the late William and Helen Warren Wilkinson Sipe. He is the grandson of the late William and Anna Gutheil Warren and the late Harry and Della Green Wilkinson.
Wilkinson had worked for the Pure Oil Co. He is retired after having worked for 42-plus years for The Airolite Co. in Marietta.
Mrs. Wilkinson is retired, having worked for B.F. Goodrich Co., the Ohio State Bureau of Unemployment Compensation and Big Bear Stores Co.
The Wilkinsons are members of the Sixth and Washington Streets Church of Christ.
The couple have two daughters: Kimberlee (Zachary) Van Tassel of Columbus, Ohio; and Lucinda (Jerard) Smith of League City, Texas.
They also have four grandchildren: Alexis and Logan Smith, William (Lydia) Van Tassel and Benjamin Van Tassel.
