Murphy-Miller
Darrell Miller and Debi Murphy were united in marriage in a private, double ring ceremony on Friday evening, Oct. 24, 2008, at the International House of Prayer in Parkersburg, W.Va. Pastor Mitch Minney officiated.
The couple reside in Marietta.
Stratton-McCumbers
Jaime Leigh Stratton and Michael Dean McCumbers were united in marriage on July 26, 2008, at Enslow Park Presbyterian Church in Huntington, W.Va. The ceremony was officiated by Minister James Shepherd.
The bride is the daughter of Michael and Sara Stratton of Milton, W.Va. She is the granddaughter of Opal and the late Virgil Stratton of Milton, W.Va., and the late Jack and Daisy Rothrock of Huntington, W.Va.
The bridegroom is the son of Dean and Kathy McCumbers of Palestine, W.Va. He is the grandson of Ruby and the late Harry McCumbers of Pee Wee, W.Va., and Edna and the late Earl Windland of Palestine, W.Va.
Selections were played by Marieanne Cordle, pianist.
The bride wore an ivory one-piece, strapless gown that featured an A-line skirt with corset closure, lace bodice and ruched tulle across the bust with a beaded lace neckline. Her headpiece was a scalloped edge veil with crystal details and a crystal and pearl tiara. The bride carried a bouquet of ivory roses and pearl centered stephanotis tied with ivory satin ribbon and adorned with two antique rhinestone brooches belonging to the bride's great-grandmother.
Matrons of honor were Bliss Stratton, sister-in-law of the bride; and Tiffany Baker. Bridesmaids were Jessica Stratton, sister-in-law of the bride; Melissa McCumbers, sister of the bridegroom; Tara Nelson; and Catherine Bartley. They wore separates in celadon green with champagne accents, and carried bouquets of hydrangea, pale yellow roses and daisies.
Best man was Ryan Merrill. Groomsmen were Chase Corbitt; Jonathan Duncan; Jason Windland, cousin of the bridegroom; and Seth Stratton and Grant Stratton, brothers of the bride.
Kristen Alford and Amy McKinney were guestbook and program attendants. Paul Clark assisted in the ceremony.
A reception followed at Heritage Farm in Huntington, W.Va. Entertainment was provided by the Bobby Maynard Bluegrass Band.
The bride is a graduate of Cabell Midland High School and Marshall University with a bachelor's degree in history and minors in religious studies and German, and a master's degree in secondary education, specialization social studies. She is employed with Brooke County Schools in West Virginia.
The bridegroom is a graduate of Wirt County High School and Marietta College with a bachelor's degree in biochemistry. He is finishing a master's in chemistry from Marshall University. He is employed as a performance industrial hygiene technician at American Electric Power in Brilliant, Ohio.
After a honeymoon in Niagara Falls and Toronto, Canada, the couple are residing in Steubenville, Ohio.
