Interior designers go to design seminar

Pamela Holshuh and Robyn Spataro, designers of Copper Leaf Interior Design Studio, recently traveled to The Ohio Design Center in Cleveland to attend an interior design seminar given by Jamie Drake, of Drake Design Associates located in New York City.

Drake is known for his flair for bold, fearless color. His projects and clientele include various celebrities, including Madonna. A new book by Drake, "New American Glamour," was recently released.

Copper Leaf Interior Design Studio is a commercial and residential interior design consulting firm at 710 Lancaster St., Marietta.

Senior care providers gets top office honors

Comfort Keepers, which provides customized in-home care services to local seniors, was recently honored by CK Franchising Inc. as one of the top offices for employee satisfaction.

CK Franchising Inc. conducts annual employee surveys on all of its locations and Comfort Keepers of the Mid-Ohio Valley was recognized for rating among the top 10 for employee satisfaction among 550-plus offices nationwide.

Joanie and David Yeomans, local owners of the Mid-Ohio Valley area Comfort Keepers, have been in business since August 2004.

Parkersburg CVB to participate in shows

The Greater Parkersburg Convention and Visitors Bureau will participate in eight trade and travel related shows in 2009.

The bureau will participate in the 2009 shows, which will begin with the Travel, Sports and boat Show from Jan. 16 to 25 in Cincinnati. Other shows will be held in Lakeland, Fla.; Pittsburgh, Pa.; Indianapolis, Ind.; Charlotte, N.C.; Cleveland; and Kissimmee, Fla.

The bureau will also attend a media marketplace May 18 to 21 in Rehoboth Beach, Del., to meet with travel writers and editors from throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.

Economic seminar to be held at WSCC

"Where Is Your Money? Truth Is Stranger Than Fiction," an introductory economic seminar, is being presented by People Seeking Truth as a community service.

The seminar will be held from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, at Washington State Community College in Community Room A-102. Speaker will be Bruce G. McCarthy.
