MALTA - Ronald E. Mayle, 71, of Main Street, Malta, died at 12:57 a.m. Sunday (Feb. 1, 2009) at The Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus.
He was born Sept. 12, 1937, in Sharpsburg, Ohio, to Willard and Martha Mayle. He was a retired supervisor at American Cyanamid (Cytec Industries) and was an Army veteran. He was a Methodist by faith. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and lifetime member of the North American Hunting and Fishing Club. He loved pitching horseshoes, fishing and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Smith Mayle of Chesterhill; one son, Rodney (Jennifer) Mayle of Chesterhill; two daughters, Tonya (Glen) Mayle-Tabler of Chesterhill and Shaunda (Todd Butcher) Mayle of Athens; two sisters, Mary Helen Norman of Malta and Martha Ann Kennedy of Zanesville; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Dave Mayle.
Services are at 1 p.m. Friday (Feb. 6, 2009) at Mount Hermon Church with the Rev. Jim Brown officiating. Burial is in Mount Hermon Cemetery. Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and for one hour prior to the service Friday at the church. Veterans services provided by the Morgan County Veterans Association.
