Bernard and Naomi Leister will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary with a trip to Pigeon Forge, Tenn.
They were married March 8, 1959, at the Nazarene Church in Marietta by the Rev. Shirkey. Bernard "Bernie" Leister is the son of the late James and Myrtle Leister of Newport. Mrs. Leister is the daughter of the late Walter and Creola Merrow of Marietta.
The couple have four children: Bernard Jr. "Tom" (Teresa), Brenda Frazier and Deidra (Ellsworth) Lane, all of Marietta; and Denver (Billie) of Reno.
They also have nine grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren: Angela Leister, Jennifer Leister, Serena Morris, Trinity Leister, Heather James, Tabitha Patterson, Kurtis Berga, Breanna and Brandy Lane, and Ryan and Tiffany Lauer.
They also have 13 great-grandchildren and one deceased great-grandson.
Leister retired from Geo-Con of Pennsylvania, then filled in his days as a courier at Peoples Bank until his full retirement. Mrs. Leister retired from B and L Agency LLC of Marietta.
An anniversary celebration is being hosted by the couple's children and families from 1 to 5 p.m. March 22 at the Veterans of Foreign Wars post, 319 Pike St., Marietta. There will be entertainment and refreshments.
The presence of friends and family is the only gift requested.
REINERSVILLE - Steve and Darlene Cain of Reinersville will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary on Sunday, March 15.
They were married March 15, 1969, at Olive Green United Methodist Church by the Rev. Lenley Addis. Mrs. Cain is the daughter of Mary Bickford of Caldwell and the late Wayne Bickford. Cain is the son of Inez Cain of Caldwell and the late Sewell Cain.
Mrs. Cain is employed by the Morgan County Office of Aging. Cain is a self-employed dairy farmer.
They are the parents of four children: Tim (Kim) of Caldwell; Kim (Tom) Brothers of Hackney; Trever (Misty) of Roseville; and Toby (Shannon) of Caldwell.
They also have 11 grandchildren: Casey, Zachary, Taylor, Nate, Krystina, Brandon, Brian, Kourtney, Shelbi, Kyle and Olyvia.

WHIPPLE - Carl W. and DeLoris M. Berg of Whipple celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary on Feb. 14 with family and friends. Mrs. Berg celebrated her 82nd birthday on this day as well.
Mr. and Mrs. Berg were married Feb. 14, 1974, in Marietta by the Rev. Charles Brown. Mrs. Berg is the daughter of the late Clarence Haas of Illinois and the late Ethel Walker Haas Risberg of Maryland. Berg is the son of the late Reinhold Berg and the late Laura Zimmer Stark Berg of Stanleyville.
They have three daughters: Diane Morgenstern of Columbus; Doris Hudson and her husband, Ron, of Marietta; and Darlene Davis and her husband, Jim, of New Matamoras. They also have one daughter-in-law, Shirley Morgenstern of Marietta. Son, Daniel Morgenstern, is deceased.
They also have three grandchildren: David Cody Jr. and his wife, Jamie, of Reno; Bryan Morgenstern and his wife, Jennifer, of Cortland, Ohio; and Tanya Wilhelm and her husband, Paul, of Atwater, Ohio. One grandson, Robert "Bobby" Hill, is deceased.
