An employee of Influent Inc. in the Reno Business Complex on Ohio 7 North was arrested Thursday for allegedly threatening a fellow worker with a utility knife.
According to the Washington County Sheriff's Office, around 5 p.m. an employee at the company reported Ronald J. Haney, 22, of 610 Halycon Ave., McConnelsville, had been involved in a dispute with a co-worker.
The victim said she spoke with Haney about fighting and during that conversation he produced a utility knife and stated, "I'll fight you with this," then swung the knife toward the woman, causing her to fear for her life.
The woman also stated that during an earlier conversation Haney said he was going to come to work and shoot himself and then added, "better yet I'll come in and shoot everyone else, but I'll wait till night shift 'cause I have more enemies on night shift."
Haney was arrested without incident on a charge of aggravated menacing and transported to the Washington County Jail. As of 7:30 p.m. Thursday Haney remained jailed in lieu of $1,000 bond.
He is scheduled for an initial hearing at 1 p.m. today in Marietta Municipal Court.
