The Songsters Quartet will be presenting Christ in song at concerts at two area churches.
The quartet will be singing at Dungannon United Methodist Church at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 30; and at Smith's Chapel United Methodist Church at 9 a.m. on Sunday, May 31.
All are invited to attend either or both performances. A freewill offering will be accepted to offset the group's traveling costs.
The Songsters Quartet was founded in 1960 and is headquartered in Mogadore, Ohio. The latest members of the group are Jerry Waldrop, son of the founder; his wife, Sharon; Jerry King; and Larry Counterman. The group's name comes from the early days of the Salvation Army when their preachers stood on street corners and were backed up by a band of singers called "songsters."
Smith's Chapel is at Hackney on Ohio 83, north of Ohio 60. Dungannon United Methodist is on Ohio 339, east of Beverly.
