The mission team at Marietta Community Church is planning two fund-raising activities for an upcoming mission trip to Honduras.
The church's mission team will conduct a car wash from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 2, at Sam's Club in Vienna, W.Va.
The mission team will also be busing tables from 12:30 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 9, at Cici's Pizza in Marietta. Cici's will contribute a percentage of the total sales receipts collected.
Donations from both activities will go toward a mission trip in the fall to aid orphaned children in Honduras.
Church to celebrate pastor's birthday
Marietta Bible Center Church will be having a special service at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 9, to honor its pastor, Myron K. Guiler, on his 75th birthday.
Special music will be provided by The Musical Martins, a group of four sisters who play together in a group that includes a flute, a violin, a cello and a concert harp. Guiler will bring a special message and there will be a picnic of North Carolina barbecue for the church family after the service.
On Sunday, Aug. 2, Joe Offenberger will preach in the 10 a.m. service. Guiler will bring a special message on "The Truth About God" for the 6 p.m. evening service.
Marietta Christian School will resume its fall classes on Aug. 24. Marietta Bible College will have registration on Sept. 2 with the first day of class to be Sept. 3. The school and college are ministries of the church.

Church to celebrate homecoming Aug. 9
Mount Hermon Church in Amesville will be celebrating its homecoming on Sunday, Aug. 9.
Lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m., followed by an afternoon service at 2 p.m. featuring The Libbys singing and Brother Kenny Welch preaching.
The church will also be conducting revival services from Aug. 10 to 14. Services will begin at 7 p.m. each evening with Brother Paul Hagen as the speaker.
The church is on Ohio 550, between Amesville and Bartlett.

Concert planned at Parkersburg church
Taj Rohr will be appearing in concert at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, at First Christian Church, 1400 Washington Ave., Parkersburg.
There is no admission charge, but an offering will be taken to support Rohr's ministry.
