Ashley Ann Elliott and William Alan Dotson were united in marriage on Feb. 28, 2009, at South Parkersburg United Methodist Church in Parkersburg. The Rev. Carroll McCauley of Grantsville, W.Va., grandfather of the bride, officiated for the double ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of David K. and Anita C. Elliott of Parkersburg.
The bridegroom is the son of William M. and Debbie L. Dotson of Elizabeth, W.Va.
The bride wore a strapless, ivory gown with a semi-cathedral train and fingertip length veil. The top of the dress had crystal beading and rhinestones and the dress was gathered all the way up the middle of the train with rhinestones at the center of each gathering. The bride wore a diamond necklace that she borrowed from her sister-in-law, Elizabeth Dotson. Her bouquet was made up of tightly closed dark pink roses.
Matron of honor was Melanie Garrett, cousin of the bride; and maid of honor was Kristy Jarvis, cousin of the bride. Bridesmaids were Scheena Hinzman, Natasha Davis, Amber Sheppard and Amanda Putman. They wore long dark brown dresses of various styles. Each of the honor attendants carried a bouquet of tightly closed roses. Each of the bridesmaids carried a single-stem, tightly closed rose with a dark brown ribbon tied around the stem.
Best man was Ryan Dotson, brother of the bridegroom. Groomsmen were Nick Bibbee, Tim Murray, Bob Eagle, Brian Watson and Jason Perrine. Brandon Elliott, brother of the bride, was an usher.
Garrett Lewis, son of Brad and Patty Lewis, served as ringbearer.
Albany Davis, cousin of the bride, and Cady Hinzman, daughter of Tim Hinzman, were flower girls.
A dinner and dance reception followed at the Parkersburg Art Center.
The bride is a 2002 graduate of Parkersburg High School, and a 2007 graduate of West Virginia University at Parkersburg with a regents bachelor's degree. She is employed as a contract specialist at the Bureau of Public Debt.
The bridegroom is a 1999 graduate of Wirt County High School and a 2004 graduate of Fairmont State University with a bachelor of science in business administration. He is a contracting officer at the Bureau of Public Debt.
The couple honeymooned in the Bahamas and now reside at Mineral Wells, W.Va.
