The prospective bridegroom is a 2001 graduate of Merrimack High School and attended Hocking College in Nelsonville, where he pursued a Ranger Academy certificate. He also attended Frederick Community College, where he took courses in emergency management, and completed the National Drug Intelligence Center's Basic Drug Intelligence Analysis Course in August 2008. He is an auxiliary police officer for Glouster, Ohio, and the owner of a Mid-Ohio Valley based small business.
