Little Hocking United Methodist Church will be having its sixth annual coat giveaway in November.
The church is collecting coats, mittens, gloves, hats, scarves, warm clothing such as sweaters and sweatshirts, and boots until Oct. 31 for the giveaway. Coats will also be picked up.
Collection sites are Stahl's Nursery on Ohio 50, Little Hocking; Cool Spot 2 at 41820 State Route 7, Tuppers Plains; Ed Hetzer's State Farm Office at 1101 Washington Blvd., Belpre; Rockland United Methodist Church at 2300 Washington Blvd., Belpre; Porterfield Baptist Church at 39 Hollywood Drive, Little Hocking; Children's Palace on Franklin Drive, Little Hocking; and Hockingport Food Mart at 479 State Route 124, Hockingport.

HarborSite to have 'western' Round Up
HarborSite Baptist Church will be having a "western themed" Round Up Sunday on Oct. 18.
Services will begin at 10 a.m. with a message given by Pastor Don Arbuckle. Everyone is invited to attend this special day, which will feature "western" activities for the children, special music and a meal to follow.
The church is at 115 Victory Place on Harmar Hill in the former Fairview Elementary School.

St. Luke's Lutheran plans Give-away Day
St. Luke's Lutheran Church at 401 Scammel St., Marietta, will be having its eighth annual Community Give-Away Day from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, at the church.
The congregation will be donating slightly used items to be given away for free to those in the community in need. Items available will include toys, household goods, clothes and miscellaneous items. Everyone is welcome.

Benefit for woman having brain surgery
A benefit is being held from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, at New Matamoras Elementary School for Beth Bellville.
Singers will include Ruthie Dunn, a local country gospel song writer and recording artist. There will also be a baked steak dinner at a cost of $6, as well as a country store.
Bellville will be having brain surgery on Oct. 14. Money is being raised to help her with medical expenses.
