Soup supper being planned at church

A soup supper is being planned for 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at Second Congregational Church, 1855 Greene St., Marietta.

Hot dogs, sloppy joes, assorted desserts and a choice of beverage will be available for a freewill offering. There will also be a variety of soups, including vegetable, chili, bean and chicken noodle. Some soups will also be available to purchase by the quart for $2.50.

The church is a half mile past the Social Security Administration office.

Dana Philathea to have potluck Nov. 2

The Dana Philathea Class of First Congregational Church at 318 Front St., Marietta, will have its monthly potluck at 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2, in the church fellowship hall.

Guest speaker will be R. Glenn Ray, who will join the group for dinner and present the program for the evening.

Those attending are asked to bring a dish to share. Paper goods and beverages will be provided. Men and women are invited to attend this special evening.

Church women plan Election Day dinner

Little Hocking United Methodist Women will be having an Election Day soup dinner on Nov. 3.

Chili, soup beans, cornbread and desserts will be available for a donation. The dinner will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m. Food may be eaten in or carried out.

The church is at County Road 25 and Ohio 124, across from the elementary school.

Craft show to be at Our Lady of Mercy

The 21st annual craft show sponsored by the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Women's Club will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, in the Our Lady of Mercy Church Hall on Washington County 60 (Lowell Hill Road), one mile west of Lowell.

Many local crafters with a wide selection of crafts will be featured. Home cooked food, including chicken pie, noodles, pies and baked goods, will be served all day.

Admission is free.

Lunch to be offered on Election Day

The annual Election Day soup and sandwich lunch is being served from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, at First Presbyterian Church, Fourth and Wooster streets, Marietta.

Cost is $6 for soup, sandwich, dessert and a drink. Soups will also be available by the quart for $5. There will be a choice of vegetable beef, chicken noodle and pumpkin soup this year.

The meal is sponsored by the church's Presbyterian Women. The public is invited to attend.

Living Faith will present quartet

Living Faith United Methodist Church will be presenting the gospel quartet New Creation at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, at the church, which is at Way Road and Braun Road near Belpre.
