Madge Irene VanFossen Bonar, 87, of Marietta, passed away at 1:10 p.m. Friday (Oct. 30, 2009) at her home.
She was born Feb. 11, 1922, in Harriettsville, Ohio, to Wade and Ida Belle Springer VanFossen. Madge was a homemaker and a member of the Road Fork Baptist Church in Harriettsville.
On March 13, 1941, Madge married William Carl Bonar, who survives with two sons, Lloyd C. (Annette) Bonar of Marietta, Larry D. (Wilma Mendenhall) Bonar of Newport; and two daughters, Wanda (Larry) Delancy of Williamstown, Cheryl (Allen) Weaver) of Tunnel. Also surviving are nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Betty VanFossen of Terre Haute, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, four brothers and one sister preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday (Nov. 3) at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in Valley Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 p.m. today until the hour of service.
