Sunday crash being investigated

From staff reports
POSTED: November 2, 2009

A Sunday evening crash near Beverly involving a pedestrian remains under investigation, according to police.

According to Washington County Sheriff Larry Mincks, a pickup truck pulling a trailer became jackknifed on Ohio 60 just north of Beverly around 6 p.m. A 19-year-old man, whose name was not immediately available, was attempting to direct traffic as efforts were underway to straighten out the truck and trailer, when a passing church bus clipped the man.

"He was up and walking around. It doesn't appear the injuries are serious," Mincks said.

Deputies were at the scene, however, the crash is being investigated by the Ohio Highway Patrol. Troopers at the local post were not immediately available for comment Sunday night.

Owner information was not available for the bus. Mincks said there was nine children on the bus at the time of the accident.

this shows a problem with the law that doesn't require church bus drivers to have more then just a drivers license. Take a look at national news in the last couple of weeks and see ow many have been involved in wrecks.
