If not for a lapse at Trimble the Waterford Lady Wildcats volleyball team could very well have found themselves atop the standings in the Tri-Valley Conference.

After all, they'd already upset ranked Eastern once and were in the drivers seat when it came to the league.

Instead, the Lady 'Cats were to Trimble and Eastern avenged its loss, sending Waterford into second place in the league.

That second place finish was still good enough to give a trio of Waterford players All-TVC honors as senior Bethany Dailey and juniors Kim Barker and Tana Wallace were named to the all-league team.

Barker recorded 242 kills, 117 digs and 86 blocks on the court this fall while Dailey had a serve percentage of over 95 percent and had 392 assists as a setter and Wallace emerged as a solid outside threat.

All three were named to the all-league team in the Hocking Division along with Federal Hocking's Hannah McKibben and Shannon Parsons.

Eastern coach Howie Caldwell and senior setter Karissa Connolly were named the Coach of the Year and Player of the Year respectively.

In the TVC-Ohio Belpre's Erika Davis was the lone Lady Eagle honored as Belpre struggled to an 0-12 league mark.

Golf proved to be the biggest triumph for area teams as Waterford went a perfect 10-0 in TVC-Hocking play and had five players honored by the league while Belpre finished third in the TVC-Ohio with a 9-3 league mark and had three players honored.

Waterford's Kyle Allen, Brandyn Offenberger, Aaron Miller, Joey Rogers and Casey Branham all received honors from the TVC for their role in guiding the Wildcats to the league championship.

Belpre's Todd Griffith, Natalie Perry and Seth Daniell were honored for the Golden Eagles who had just three losses in league play as they finished behind 12-0 Athens and 10-2 Alexander in the TVC-Ohio.

The Wildcats' Brandyn Offenberger was named the TVC-Hocking Player of the Year for his success on the links while Waterford coach Aaron Powers was named Coach of the Year.

Federal Hocking had Tyler Thompson and Aaron McPherson receive all-league honors in golf in the TVC-Hocking.

On the gridiron Federal Hocking had five players honored in the TVC-Hocking after finishing 3-2 in league play as all three of their wins in a 3-7 campaign came in the league.

Dewayne Clark, Jonas Clark, Brenden Torrence, Chad Hatfield and Charlie Lantz were all named to the league team.

For Waterford junior linebacker Levi Porter, who recorded a team high 113 tackles this fall, and senior offensive lineman and nose guard Jake Biedel were named to the All-TVC team.

In addition to his tackles Porter also notched 10 tackles for loss, four sacks and recovered two fumbles defensively.

Biedel recorded 62 tackles from his nose guard slot and also had eight tackles for loss and five sacks during the fall campaign.

Another struggling campaign for the Belpre Golden Eagles on the gridiron came to an end this year as Belpre went 0-6 in league play and 0-10 on the year.

Despite that record the Golden Eagles still had a pair of TVC honorees in senior Tyler Carr and junior Erik Waderker.
