Two Monday recounts from the Nov. 3 general election resulted in no changes, Washington County Board of Elections Director Peggy Byers said.
The recounts were conducted to verify the outcomes of the Warren Local School District Board of Education and Macksburg Village Council races.
The Warren recount was automatically triggered after the race ended with a difference of less than one-half of 1 percent of the vote between third- and fourth-place candidates Robert Crum and Dan McDermott.
Crum officially received 1,198 votes, earning the third and final seat on the board, while McDermott garnered 1,187 votes, Byers said.
The other Warren seats were secured by Sidney Brackenridge and Bob Allen, with 1,558 and 1,399 votes respectively.
"The recount resulted in no change in either race," Byers said. "It was the same for the Macksburg race, as well."
In that race, incumbent Ted E. Dobbin led with 45 votes, followed by Dorothy L. Pack who took 37 votes, clearly securing two of the four open council seats. However, there was a one-vote difference between the third-, fourth- and fifth-place winners, husband and wife Jerry and Tina Williams, both incumbents, and Phyllis Carpenter. There were four council seats up for election.
After the recount, the results remained the same with Jerry Williams taking 31 votes, Tina Williams securing 30 votes and Carpenter receiving 29.
Monday's recounts were conducted during a special board meeting in the board of elections office at the Washington County Courthouse.
Calls seeking comment from the affected candidates were not returned.
