Pauline Hetz
DEFIANCE - Pauline Hetz, 85, of Defiance, died at 7:20 a.m. Sunday (Nov. 29, 2009) at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
She was born in Marietta on April 2, 1924. She was the daughter of the late Louis and Lois (Burkhart) Huck.
She married Frank Vetter in 1961, who died in 1977. She married Joseph Hetz in 1983, and he survives.
Pauline had worked as the Defiance County Extension agent. She was also a home economics teacher, educator and Defiance County 4-H adviser. Pauline graduated from Marietta High School and received her B.A. from The Ohio State University. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church.
Besides her husband surviving are stepdaughters, Nancy (Lee) Mack of Defiance, Sally (Greg) Newton of Mesa, Ariz., Colleen Bowling of Defiance and Dorothea (Gary) Hammon of Defiance; two brothers, Francis (Joan) Huck of Marietta and Louis (Betty Jane) Huck of Marietta; brother-in-law, Paul Klinger; 11 stepgrandchildren; and 14 stepgreat-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mary Katherine Pointer and Regina Klinger; and a stepdaughter, Linda Hetz.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. John Catholic Church, Defiance, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday (Dec. 2). Friends are invited to call today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home, 1753 S. Clinton St., Defiance, Ohio 43512. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
