Basketball league forming in Marietta

Registration is now being accepted for the winter mens' basketball league.

Deadline for registration is Dec. 11 with an entry fee of $340. Roster and waivers may be picked up at the public facilities department at 304 Putnam St., Marietta.

Barlow-Vincent to host hoops tourney

Barlow-Vincent is hosting a fourth Grade Girls basketball tournament on Saturday and Sunday. Cost is $75 with a three game guarantee. Teams must consist of players from the same school district.

Frontier sponsoring Big Buck Confest

The Frontier Middle School eighth grade class is sponsoring a Big Buck Contest during Ohio's regular gun season, Nov. 30-Dec. 6.

Entry fee is $10, and the winner will receive half the earnings.

The winner will be determined by the number of points on the deer.

Points must be one inch or longer to qualify. Ties will be broken by the inside spread.

Judging will occur every evening of gun season from 6 to 8 p.m. in the far right end of the B& J Carry out parking lot in Newport. Each hunter will be photographed with the deer. The winner will be determined on Dec. 6. To enter, please obtain a registration form from any eighth grader. Pioneers to host prospect camps

The Marietta College Baseball Staff will be hosting its last indoor prospect camps this winter at Dyson Baudo Recreation Center Sunday, Dec. 13. Campers will receive instruction in all facets of the game as well as be evaluated by the staff. Space is limited and restricted to 2010, 2011 and 2012 high school graduates.

Registration Fee: $80 Registration deadline is Friday.
