Crocker-Byler

Christen Gwyn Crocker and Daniel Mahlon Byler were united in marriage on June 27, 2009. The double-ring ceremony took place at Williamsburg Community Chapel in Williamsburg, Va. The Rev. Marty Purks, chaplain of Intervarsity Christian Fellowship, officiated for the wedding.

The bride is the daughter of Diane Crocker and Charles Crocker of Sumerduck, Va. She is the granddaughter of James and Ann Crocker of Winchester, Va., and Phyllis Gothard and the late Russel Gothard of Herndon, Va.

The bridegroom is the son of Tony and Debra Byler of Parkersburg. He is the grandson of Mahlon and Tressa Byler of Marietta.

The bride wore a white, strapless A-line gown with a sweetheart neckline and a skirt that featured an asymmetrically split chiffon overlay trimmed with floral lace that continued around the train. She carried a bouquet of white irises, mango colored roses and blue delphiniums in keeping with the blue iris theme of the wedding.

Maid of honor was Caitie Rountree. Bridesmaids were Lauren Crocker and Meghan Crocker, sisters of the bride; and Christina Byler, sister of the bridegroom.

Best man was David Byler, brother of the bridegroom. Groomsmen were Austin Raynor, Micheal Hardman, and William and Mary adjunct professor Sean Tarter.

Musicians were Rebecca Dideum, pianist and cousin of the bride; and vocalists, Leticia Torres and Marynn Skelton.

A reception was held at Ford's Colony Country Club in Williamsburg, Va., in the Garden Pavilion Room.

The bride is a 2005 graduate of Liberty High School in Bealeton, Va. She is a 2009 graduate of the College of William and Mary, earning a bachelor's degree in public policy. She is employed as an economist for the Bureau of Labor and Statistics in Washington, D.C.

The bridegroom is a 2005 graduate of Parkersburg High School and a 2009 graduate of the College of William and Mary with a bachelor's degree in economics and government. He is employed as an analyst for Deloitte and Touche in Washington, D.C.

After a honeymoon trip to the West Coast, the couple are residing in Arlington, Va.
