Greathouse-Smit

Stefani Dawne Greathouse and Bastiaan Smit were united in marriage on Jan. 27, 2010. The double ring ceremony was held at Lipa Noi Beach in Koh Samui, Thailand, with the Rev. Ceasar Miranda officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Steven and Janet Greathouse of Barlow. She is the granddaughter of Harry and Dorothy Gray of Fleming, Maxine Cantwell of Belpre, and the late Donald Greathouse, formerly of Belpre.

The bridegroom is the son of Robert and Julie Smit of Schuttrange, Luxembourg. He is the grandson of Willem and Elizabeth Smit of Groningen, The Netherlands, Dorothy Bridgman of Jersey, United Kingdom, and the late Dennis Bridgman, formerly of Jersey, United Kingdom.

The bride wore a white corset-style strapless, A-line gown with crystal accents. She also wore a shoulder-length veil and carried a cascading bouquet of white and yellow lilies and Thai orchids.

Maid of honor was Veronica Watson of Barlow. She wore a strapless satin knee-length dress in light yellow and carried a purple orchid bouquet.

Best man was Rudolf Krcmar of Czech Republic. The bridegroom and best man both wore flower garlands during the ceremony.

A cocktail hour and dinner dance reception followed at the Faraway Villa, where Thai musicians and dancers performed for the guests. The evening included guests releasing fire lanterns over the Gulf of Thailand.

The bride is a 2005 graduate of Warren High School and a 2009 graduate of Ohio University in Athens, Ohio.

The bridegroom is a 2008 graduate of Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College in England. He currently works for an online investment firm in Luxembourg.

After a honeymoon trip to the Thai islands of Koh Phangan and Koh Tao, the newlyweds are residing in Perl, Germany.
