The Marietta High Tiger Navy boys are scheduled to duel Central Catholic, and the girls will be facing Oakland Catholic on Dillon Lake in Zanesville Saturday.

The MHS girls are looking to retain the Varsity 8 Cup while the boy's are seeking their first win in the Varsity 8 - the Ponch Morales Cup.

This will be the the fifth year that Marietta and the Pittsburgh, Pa.-based schools will be competing on the Zanesville waters.

Dillon Lake provides a neutral ground for competition, and is a beautiful venue for rowing.

Some boats to keep and eye on will be the girls lightweight 8 and varsity 8 - both of which are upperclassman oriented and have really come together to start moving the boat.

The MHS boys varsity 8 is looking to capture the Ponch Morales Cup for the first time in the dual against Central Catholic which is a Top- 3 rowing team in the country.

Another Tiger Navy shell to watch out for is the boys novice 8. They are hoping to bring home the Bob Armstrong Cup (dedicated to the late Marietta High boys novice coach at last year's dual) for the first time.

The novice 8 has gained tremendous speed during the last two weeks, and are moving faster than they have all year.

Both teams are anxious for this weekend and using Saturday's competition and the following week of racing in Pittsburgh, Pa. to prepare for the team's ultimate goal of being quick and successful at the May 8-9 Midwest regional championships which will be held in Cincinnati.
