The final program of the 2010 Evergreen Arts and Humanities Series will be the annual Mother's Day concert, which this year will feature The Local Girls performing at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Graham Auditorium at Washington State Community College in Marietta.
Admission is free.
The Local Girls, from Athens, feature Brenda Catania, Gay Dalzell and Mimi Hart performing swing, bebop, Western, blues and standard tunes.
The nationally renowned trio seamlessly combine their distinctive styles into a one-of-a-kind sound. Their versatility is reflected in performances with The Platters, Leroy Parnell, Lonestar, Chubby Checker and David Bromberg. They have appeared at Town Hall in New York City and as guests of "A Prairie Home Companion" with Garrison Keillor. They have performed twice at the White House; once during Hillary Rodham Clinton's 50th birthday gala, and again during candlelight holiday festivities.
The Evergreen Arts and Humanities Series at Washington State serves as a primary source for the community to experience renowned performers and appreciate the displayed works of local artists.
