Engelke-Yates
The wedding of Anna Lee Engelke and Adam Joseph Yates took place at 5:30 p.m. April 10, 2010, at the Historic Bavarian Inn in Shepherdstown, W.Va.
The ceremony was conducted by Dr. Thomas Hartshorn at the Inn's gazebo. Special music was provided by Matthew Enders, pianist, and Joel Hartshorn, trumpeter.
The bride is the daughter of Alvin and Nancy Engelke of Creston, West Virginia. The bridegroom is the son of Edward and Brenda Yates of Martinsburg, West Virginia.
The bride's gown was made out of dotted swiss with a French lace overlay scattered with AB sequins. The scoop neckline and fitted bodice flared into a mermaid shaped bottom. The back of the gown was open with a chapel length train flowing from the gowns beaded waistband. The bride wore a tiara. Her finger length veil was made of tulle with beading that matched the wedding gown. The bridal bouquet was a large ribbon tied group of pink, white and green hydrangeas, roses and peonies with green ferns and berries.
Matron of honor was Jane Engelke, sister of the bride, and bridesmaids were Jessica Lee, and Michelle Rhodes and Emily Rhodes, nieces of the bride. The bridesmaids wore Petunia colored tea-length chiffon gowns with flowing sashes and a halter style bodice that tied at the neckline. Junior bridesmaids were Rebecca and Brooke Rhodes, nieces of the bride. Their gowns were knee length, off-white chiffon dresses with flowing bows at the cowl neckline. Bouquets were ribbon tied with shades of pink hydrangeas, roses and peonies and with green ferns and berries.
Best man was Joel Hartshorn.
Groomsmen were Matthew Arvon, Edward Shewbridge, and Ralph Fritts. Harrison Schenerlein, nephew of the bride, was the ring bearer and Grant and Jarett Rhodes, nephews of the bride, served as ushers.
A formal dinner reception was held in the Inn's Hunt Room and patio.
The couple spent their honeymoon abroad in Athens, Greece, visiting the Acropolis and took a boat tour of local Greek Islands. In Petra, Jordan, they visited the Siq. The couple also visited the Seychelles Islands off the Eastern Coast of Africa. They are now living in Strasburg, Virginia.
Fought-Perine
Zackery J. Perine and Jessica Paige Fought were united in marriage on Feb. 17, 2010, at the Marietta Municipal Court building in Marietta with Judge Janet Dyar Welch officiating for the ceremony.
The bridegroom is the son of Jerry and Dianne Perine of Lowell. He will be graduating from Fort Frye High School and the Washington County Career Center as an honor roll student this year. He is employed by Idding's Trucking as a full-time diesel mechanic.
The bride is the daughter of Kelly Curran of Lowell and Tim Fought of Mineral Wells, West Virginia. She is a full-time honor roll students at Fort Frye High School.
Plans are being made for a reception this summer.
Ludwig-Standiford
Lisa Michelle Ludwig and Jonathan David Standiford were united in marriage on April 3, 2010, at Souls Harbor Baptist Church. Pastor Robert Hughes officiated for the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mike and Ronda Ludwig of Marietta. She is the granddaughter of Roy and Freda Stephens of Marietta and Alvin and Jean Ludwig of Devola.
The bridegroom is the son of Ralph and Deborah Standiford Sr. of Charleston, W.Va.
Bridesmaids were Ashley Craft, Tiffany Wilson and Cierra Craft.
Groomsmen were Travis Walker, Stephen Ludwig and Phillip Ludwig. Ring bearer was Hunter Wilson.
The bride is a 2002 graduate of Wood County Christian School and a 2006 graduate of Ohio Valley University. She is employed at Parkersburg South High School.
The bridegroom is a 2003 graduate of Elk Valley Christian School and works as a member of the Air National Guard.
A reception was held at the church immediately after the ceremony.
The couple resides in Ripley, W.Va.
