Sunday school

at Salvation Army

The Salvation Army of Marietta, 136 Front Street, will be holding Sunday school at 10 a.m. and Holiness Meeting (worship) at 11 a.m. on Sundays. Tuesdays they will be having 6 p.m. bible study, 6:45 p.m. Home League (women's fellowship) and 6:45 p.m. Men's Club (men's fellowship).

Beginning in the fall they will start youth programs from 6 to 7 p.m. for children five to 11 and teens twelve and older.

Norwood church community dinner

Norwood United Methodist Church, located at the corner of Colegate Dr. and Oakwood Ave., Marietta, will host a free community dinner Friday, Aug. 20, in it's families activities center. This month's menu includes pulled pork sandwiches, baked beans, cole slaw and fruit salad for dessert. Any one may attend this dinner - seniors, families, singles, college students who wish to enjoy a good meal and good Christian fellowship. There are no reservations or payment required.

Parking is available on the street or off the alley behind the activities center.

Crown of Life church discusses 'treasure'

"Find Real Treasure" will be the, theme for the 9:30 a.m. worship service on Sunday, August 15, at Crown of Life Lutheran Church, Third and Wooster Streets, Marietta. Pastor Vogel's sermon text will be Ecclesiaster 2:18 - 26.

Fellowship time with light refreshments will follow morning worship. Sunday school will be begin at 11 a.. m. with classes for all ages.

Crown of Life Lutheran is a congregation of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS).

Tent revival Aug. 20 in Parkersburg

Area church to sponsor homecoming

Middleridge Baptist Church will be holding it's homecoming, at noon, Aug. 15., at the church located on West Virginia 31 off of West Virginia 50. Coverdish dinner an performance at 1:30 p.m. by the Crownsman.
