Barr-Bowles

Kyla Marie Barr and Joshua David Bowles were united in marriage on Aug. 14, 2010, at Calvary Memorial Church in Parkersburg. Pastor Brian Harrell officiated the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Leroy and Brenda Collins of Ravenswood, W.Va. She is the granddaughter of Mervyn and Pat Lott of Washington, W.Va. She is a 2005 graduate of Parkersburg South High School and a 2010 graduate of West Liberty University, with a bachelor's and associate's degree in dental hygiene. She is currently employed at Dr. Delli-Gatti and Associates dental office.

The bridegroom is the son of David and Melanie Bowles of Parkersburg. He is the grandson of Jerry and Barbara Bowles of Vienna, W.Va., and the late Billy and Ethel Pickens. He is a 2003 graduate of Parkersburg South High School and a 2008 graduate of West Virginia University at Parkersburg, with a bachelor's degree in business administration and an associate's degree in computer information systems. He is currently employed at Blue Cross Blue Shield as a corporate trainer.

The bride was escorted down the aisle by her father and mother. The bride wore a white, strapless, allover draped taffeta, trumpet style dress, with button back and sweep train. She also wore a white feathered flower hairpiece and rhinestone encrusted bangle bracelets. She carried a bouquet of green hydrangeas, white pom poms, and white spider mums wrapped in white satin ribbon adorned with a rhinestone encrusted flower.

Serving as maid of honor was Terra Oliver of Cambridge. Bridesmaids were Sarra Barr of Fairmont, W.Va., sister of the bride, Angie Niehaus of Huntington, W.Va., and Brittany Beavers of New Cumberland, Ohio. They wore knee-length, black, corset back, silk taffeta dresses with a ruffle running down and across the dress and carried bouquets of green hydrangeas, white pom poms, and white spider mums wrapped in black satin ribbon adorned with a rhinestone encrusted flower.

Serving as best man was Kyle Bowles of Parkersburg, brother of the bridegroom. Groomsmen were Nathen Pickens of Washington, W.Va., Bryce Pickens of Belpre, and Wes Pickens of Washington, W.Va., all cousins of the bridegroom. The bridegroom and the groomsman wore gray tuxes with white shirts. They had apple green and gray paisley print ties and hankies. The bridegroom wore a gray vest and the groomsman wore black vests.

Serving as ring bearer was Gideon Wilson of Parkersburg.

The flower girls were Alex Queen of Parkersburg, and Faith Pickens of Washington, W.Va., second cousin to the bridegroom. The flower girls wore floor length apple green dresses with a black satin ribbon around the waist that had a white flower in the middle.

The guest register was Kaitlyn Bowles of Parkersburg, sister of the bridegroom. Programs were passed out by Katy Bowles of Parkersburg, sister-in-law to the bridegroom, and Kaiti Gallagher of Bridgeport, Ohio.

The bridal party walked down the isle to the song, "When You Say You Love Me."

After the ceremony, the bride and bride groom took a 1955 Chevy Bel Air to the DuPont Park Activities Building.

Music was provided by DJ Ryan Raneri of Colliers, W.Va.

After returning from their honeymoon to Cozumel, Mexico, the couple resides in Parkersburg.
