Open Door Baptist Church will hold its annual church/Sunday school picnic from noon to 6 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 18, at the Masonic Park in Devola. Festivities will include dinner, couples corn hole tournament, softball games, bingo and a special appearance by Gary Broadbent, a world champion in throwing boomerangs. He will demonstrate and give lessons and have various boomerangs available to purchase. Friends and family of the church are asked to attend and bring a covered dish of salad, vegetable or dessert.
Pastor R. Keigh Kapple, Open Door Baptist Church, 301 Franklin St., Marietta, continues the series called "Things You Must Know to Become a Consistent Child of God," at 10:30 a.m., Sunday, Sept. 19 with a message called "With This, God is Well Pleased." On Wednesday nights from 7 to 8 p.m., Pastor Kapple is teaching a series called "Through the 66 Books of the Bible."
