Farmers market to hold a pumpkinfest
The River City Farmers Market is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays year-round at the Washington County Fairgrounds, 922 Front St., Marietta. Items available this week are peppers, beets, turnips, potatoes, sweet potatoes, cabbage, cauliflower, home-baked goods and handcrafted items. The market will hold a Pumpkinfest from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 23. There will be pumpkin pancakes and a pumpkin carver on site to carve pumpkins for a donation. Boley's will be putting on a free Kiddie Pedal Pull for customers' children.

Family Fall Bash will be at Harmar center
A Family Fall Bash is being held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, at the Harmar Community Center, 309 Lancaster St., Marietta. Activities will include a bounce house, pumpkin painting, carnival games, healthy snacks, hot dogs and hamburgers, flower pot painting and environmental education.
The event, which is free and open to the public, is being organized by Marietta College McDonough Leadership students and sponsered by area businesses and groups.
Young drama group to perform in area
Maranatha Drama Team, a group of young people from Vinton County, will perform at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, at the Bethel Community Center, State Route 260, Marr. The group presents the gospel message in drama and music, and using black lights. Everyone is welcome. A free will love offering will be taken.

"Trillium Terrors," the October concert in The Castle's Salon Concert Series, will be presented from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, at The Castle, 418 Fourth St., Marietta.
The Trillium Trio will perform music to conjure the sprites, spirits and spooks characterized by Edvard Grieg, Ludwig van Beethoven and Camille St. Saens. Conversations about the composers and their music, as well as Victorian refreshments, are included.
Individual tickets for one concert are $15 for adults and $10 for students. Series tickets are available at a discount.

Fantastic Basket Bingo will be held Saturday, Nov. 20, at Warren High School. Doors open at 6 p.m., with bingo at 7. Cost is $20 for 20 games.
This bingo showcases Christmas items with Longaberger. There will also be a country store, 50/50 drawing and light snacks at the concession stand. Proceeds support the Warren girls and boys basketball program.
