Lowell church to take 'journey'
The Lowell Christian Church, at 322 4th St., Lowell, will begin 'A Journey though the Bible' from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. The bible study will begin with the book of Genesis and journey through each book of the bible. The public is welcome to attend the bible study and come early for a Family Ties potluck dinner at 6:30 p.m. each Wednesday. Children's bible study session also available.

Bible College prayer conference
The Marietta Bible College announces its annual Prayer Conference on Jan. 17 to 21. The sessions will be held Monday through Friday mornings at 9, 10 and 11 a.m. and evenings at 7 and 8 p.m. The messages, which will all be on prayer, will be delivered by several guest preachers.
The South-eastern Ohio Pastor's Fellowship will meet on Monday, Jan. 17, with a luncheon and special session at 1 p.m.

Free community lunch at KFC
"Our Daily Bread Kitchen" will be serving its first free community lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Jan. 19, at the Knights of Columbus Hall located at 312 Franklin St., Marietta.
This community meal is free to the public and will be served every Wednesday from Jan. 19 throughout the year.
The "Our Daily Bread Kitchen" is being spearheaded by the St. Mary's Health Ministry and Knights of Columbus Council.
Help from the community is being sought in the form of donations of food items, baked goods, paper products, and money. Volunteers are also welcome to join the team to help prepare meals, serve, and clean up. Help is needed to shop and transport food as well.

Spaghetti dinner at Sand Hill church
A spaghetti dinner will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21, at Sand Hill United Methodist Church, Sand Hill Road, Reno. Everyone is welcome.

Bus going to Capital City gospel sing
The 14th annual Capital City Gospel Sing will be departing via motor coach from the Kroger parking lot in Marietta on March 25 to Charleston, W.Va., by C. L. Tours.
The concert will feature The McKamneys, The Inspirations, The Primitive Quartet, The Good Shepherd Quartet and Mike Upright with Standing Tall. The cost is $49 per person (artist circle seating is being provided) and must be paid by Jan. 31. Seating is limited.

The Gathering Space at Stout Memorial United Methodist Church is beginning a new worship experience Sundays at 5 p.m. It's not about dressing up and going to sit in a hard pew, but about finding God in blue jeans using all your senses. It is not a contemporary worship service, but an emerging one that evolves and changes each time.
