Larry and Joy Baumgard of Vincent observed their 50th wedding anniversary on Jan. 10, with a surprise reception from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Del Mar restaurant in Marietta hosted by their children. Family, friends and neighbors were in attendance.
The couple was married Jan. 7, 1961, at the George Street Church of Christ in St. Marys, W. Va., by Evangelist Richard Pryor. She is the daughter of the late Marion and Annie Moore Davis of St. Marys, and he is the son of the late Lewis and June Shockley Baumgard of Marietta.
They are the parents of three children: Anthony (Sharon) Baumgard of Vincent; Allen (Vivian) Baumgard of Cutler; and Angela (Clay) Burdiss of Vincent. They have six grandchildren: Summer (Adam) Spencer of Columbus, Ohio Austin Baumgard of Vincent, Rachel and Jacob Baumgard of Cutler, and Elizabeth and Christopher Burdiss of Vincent.
He is retired from GE Plastics and she is a retired postmaster. The couple reside at 550 Barrett South Road, Vincent, Ohio 45784. They are members of the Barlow-Vincent Church of Christ.
